The tour company was very organized, even though it was a large group. The boat ride in the danube to Melk Abbey was very tranquil with incredible views...highly recommend.

Our tour guide, Thomas, was fantastic and very knowledgeable, and kept the long but beautiful ride on the bus enjoyable. I would recommend skipping eating on the boat because the food is just OK and the service is pretty slow. You'll miss most of your boat trip if you do. Eat at the Abbey. Folks that ate there said it was fantastic and you do have plenty of time. The description says "Lunch and walking tour through Krems or Dürnstein " - we stopped in Durnstein, which is quite quaint and picturesque views of the Danube but you're on your own for this, and lunch isn't included. More direction should be given on how to get from the trail and park where the bus stops and how to get into the actual town/shopping area. Doesn't sound difficult but several people we spoke to didn't find the right path into town before time was running out. It's not obviously marked from the park trail where the bus stops to the town center.

I really enjoyed this trip, it was great to get out of the city and see something of the Vienna woods and the Danube. Melk abbey is beautiful and the tour is great. If I was to do it again though, I would do it alone without the tour group as transport is very easy to figure out in Vienna and I would have loved to wander around Melk abbey at my own pace without having to be back on the bus at a certain time.

We thoroughly enjoyed the whole tour - the walk around Drestein, the cruise on the Danube with the opportunity to have a very nice lunch on the boat and finally a tour through the beautiful Melk Abbey and township. Our tour guide was excellent and we highly recommend this tour.

Great trip. Bus left right on time, our stop in Dürnstein was charming, loved the mini-cruise (good lunch and drinks) and Melk well worth seeing. The gardens are worth a walk — there was JUST time to do them before our excellent tour. You have to make a choice there: garden walking or eating, there or in town down the hill.

Loved the history of the area and all the additional information provided by the guide in the abbey. Guide was outstanding with his general knowledge and ability to converse in several languages

This was my first large group bus tour as I generally don't like guided tours. I found the tour guide spoke a little too much during the first part of the tour on the bus, although some of the information was quite interesting. The visit to Durnstein was very good although too short. We ended up waiting a long time for the boat to arrive, so it could have been better timed. The boat cruise was lovely, especially as the weather was lovely. The guided tour in the abbey was excellent. Well worth the trip, although in future I think I will stick to small guided and walking tours.

This was an amazing day trip to Melk and a cruise on the Danube river. Well organised and made our trip very pleasant and unforgettable. They were puntual and very professional; the tour guide spoke in many different languages. Melk tour was fabulous; the local tour guide was very knowledgeable. I would strongly recommend this tour by Vienna Sightseeing Tours. Many thanks

Beautiful trip. Need to have more food choices on the boat, vegetarian choices. They wouldn't make sandwich with out meat.

The Melk abbey is not to be missed. It is gorgeous on the inside and the views of the valley are stunning. The guide inside the abbey was very informative and engaging. The river cruise was lovely too. The guide from the city though was not very clear and we had a hard time following what he was saying.

This is a perfect day out from the busy city life where you can spend some relaxed and quality time. We traveled with 2 kids (7y and 1.5y) and managed them well. We took the baby stroller with us and that was a good decision as you need to walk sometimes. The best part of the tour is the boat ride. We had our lunch there. At Melk Abbey we spent visited the garden first and then the museum with the English speaking guide. The view from Melk Abbey is nice. The only observation from my end is that our tour guide- an aged person, very knowledgeable and professional but NOT very friendly or approachable. Any tour guide should have this basic skill to get the tourist the feel of friendliness and comfortibility which was somehow missing.

We took this coach tour along the Danube stopping off at Krems and Dürnstein on the way to Melk Abbey - a distance of around 50 miles each way. We had plenty of time to visit the pretty villages and had a pleasant lunch before finishing up with a guided tour of Melk Abbey which was just wonderful!

We were disappointed it’s this trip. The guide gave no directions or instructions as to were to eat in the towns we stopped at, seemed to assume that everyone new were to go . His English was very hard o understand. Very poor instructions as to were the bus would be.

The tour was beyond describable. Definitely worth every penny. The boat trip was magical and the Melk Abbey tour was amazing. Our guide mixed history with humour. She’s fantastic. Vienna wouldn’t be the same without this trip.

The locations are gorgeous, the river cruise lovely, good amount of time for visiting all the places. However, I signed up for the English tour and found out when we started that the tour would be conducted in English, German, and Spanish. While I was impressed with the guide’s linguistic dexterity, it was incredibly tiresome to hear the same information (inconsistently) translated all day long. Moreover, the guide himself made at least one mildly racist comment about tourists of Chinese descent and seemed bored the whole time.
