We booked a shuttle bus to take us to Butchart Gardens while visiting Victoria. They let us change days due to rain when we arrived without any hassle. Bus was spacious and comfortable and we had options to disembark when we wanted to. We never waited very long to be picked up and the staff was very helpful. Great way to get around. Make sure you see the Empress Hotel while your there. Pick up was conveniently in front of Hotel and across from the waterfront!
In spite of the rainy weather the gardens were beautiful! It was a great trip! The only problem was the timing of the bus departure and the arrival to Victoria on clipper.. we missed the bus by 1 minute and there was no way to alert the driver.. we were right behind him and could have boarded at the next red light. Instead we had to book and pay for another trip with a different company . We were very grateful that our first purchase was graciously refunded!!

A wonderful afternoon in one of the worlds most beautiful settings, Butchart Gardens. We easily strolled through the grounds in just under 2 hours and enjoyed a delicious High Tea in the Dining Room following the tour. Please insure you make reservations for the High Tea in advance as many walk-ins were turned away. Viator perfectly handled all transportation and entrance tickets with on-time departures and returns. We were fortunate to have a great tour driver, Adrian Sly, who's knowledge and humor of Victoria made for a very enjoyable day. You will enjoy your your with this very beautiful and relaxing experience.
We arrived at the Kiosk in Victoria easily from the cruise ship. The attendant was helpful and the bus arrived on time. The driver, Adrian was knowledgeable and interesting on the ride to the Gardens. He gave us good information and had funny stories. The gardens were beautiful and well kept. So much to see and do there. Lots of photo ops .
My friends and I were staying in Victoria, and visiting Butchart Gardens was high on our to do list. Using this tour was a great way to make it happen. We met up at The Empress Hotel and boarded a double decker bus. We enjoyed the sites on a beautiful drive with interesting commentary. The tour included tickets to the garden, so we ventured on to tour the gardens at our own pace. It was a lovely afternoon, and there were seve al return options to choose from for our return. This tour made our trip to Butchart easy and stress free.
The bus ride was fine, although confusing when we ended up at The Butterfly Gardens. Luckily, other passengers told us we could stay on the bus to get to Butchart Gardens. The driver should have stated this when he pulled up. Also, I received an email from the tour company stating that our vouchers included transportation from our cruise ship to the Fairmont Empress. When we lined up to board the bus by the cruise ship, I showed them our vouchers and a copy of the email. Their agents said they don't know why the company wrote this. They tried to call their company and no one answered the phone, even though it was on a Wed. If you can get another couple to split the cost of a taxi, which is 50 to Butchart from the cruise ship port, I would suggest it. You will avoid waiting to take two buses and can come and go at your pleasure. There are taxis lined up outside Butchart for the return.
