Rubin was our Guide and was extremely knowledgeable and informative without being overly detailed. An earpiece microphone was provided and allowed for us to hear all that was spoken even in the most crowded rooms. The group size was small and very manageable for our guide to answer questions and keep us together! Highly recommend Viator as this was our third very positive experience in less than a week.
The tour of the Palace was excellent and skip the line was essential. However at the end of the tour our guide, Hugo, failed to give one of my party of 8, a ticket for the gardens. As a result, after the Versailles staff had contacted the tour company, City Wonders, I had to pay for another ticket to the gardens. We had only just entered the gardens, however, when I received a phone call from Viator/City Wonders, sincerely apologising and stating that they would refund my account with the price of the garden ticket. Later that afternoon I received an email from Viator apologising again and confirming that my account had been credited with the money. I have the philosophy that everyone can make mistakes but it is how they deal with those mistakes that separate a good company from a bad. Viator's response was outstanding and I would have no hesitation in recommending them. Certainly my party of eight will use them again. I have used Viator all over the world and have never been disappointed.
The gardens and fountains at Versailles are incredibly beautiful. The Palace has been thoughtfully restored, although heavy crowds keep it from being rated a "5".
The line to get into Versailles was insanity. This was 100 worth the money just to skip the line.
Nice tour and the tour guide knew a lot !!!
This was one of the highlights of our trip. I expected a boring tour of a pretty palace, but our guide, Adam, was phenomenal! He brought the history to life with great color commentary. He knew what to showcase, and the best spots to view. He was very efficient in moving a large group though heavy crowds and was extremely personable and knowledgeable. If the weather had been better, I could have spent an entire day in just the gardens. Beautiful! Great tour!
Tour operator was wonderful, they were right on time, loved how we all had earphones that hung around our neck. The only problem is we went to see the fountains and tour was at 3:15 and still not done, so had to leave the tour to get outside to rent the golf carts
Dreadful organisation. We arrived on time - the tour started late on a cold day. We could not get entry to the Palace as a result of a booking error by head office.This was eventually corrected and we gained entry at 11.30 instead of the planned 9.30.By this time the palace was crowded and difficult to enjoy. We abandoned our tour half way through Do not use this tour group. This was wait in a longer line, not skip the line.
