Half Day Thai Cooking Class including Lunch from Khao Lak

Thailand’s cuisine has to be one of the leading export products of this Kingdom: a representation of blending, mixing and cooking fresh ingredients that have made the country world famous for its exquisite dishes and unique flavors. The food is not only packs a spicy punch but has been known to create a subtle balance of taste and smell, with the characteristics to rely heavily on what’s fresh. As the basic ingredients that make up the foundation of Thai cuisine, the wide range of fresh herbs and spices, such as cumin, nutmeg cloves or bay leafs plus, of course chilli, ginger and garlic that are always found in Thai kitchens, is what makes this distinctive kitchen such as feast for the eye and taste buds. Learning to master some basic Thai recipes is not only to give yourself the skills to make some Thai food at home, it is a fun-filled experience from beginning to the end.

In the morning, after breakfast has sunk in and you’re working an appetite for lunch, travel by minivan to one of the leading Thai Cooking School in the Khao Lak district. Upon arrival you will be warmly welcomed by your instructor and professional chef with her crew. After a brief introduction, start a short tour to a local wet market to learn about Thai herbs and spices – it is important that you get to know some of the fresh, aromatic herbs that can be later added to your dishes as ingredients to spice up its flavors. Start with the theory session and cooking demonstration before trying your hand at creating your own culinary masterpieces under your instructor’s guidance. Each student has his own table and wok and getting hand’s-on instructions from the instructor, you will learn and experience the culinary technique of Thai cuisine. Delicious dishes are waiting to be prepared by you!

For lunch, sample the fruits of your labor at the school. Each student will receive a set of the course recipes as a souvenir to bring back home.
