This tour was perfect, very thorough and informational. So much to learn and the tour guide was very good at explaining how the Colosseum was built, the history, the styles of the columns, etc. Would definitely recommend.

We loved seeing the Colosseum but the only downfall to this tour was that our guide talked sooo fast that it was very hard to keep up. He had a very strong accent, so that combined with the speed of his talk made it difficult to understand him. Also, if we didn’t stay extremely close to him, our headphones cut out so we lost a lot of what he said. He was very knowledgeable and very easy to ask questions to, but I wish I could have understood more of the facts.

The initial tour was fine, very informative. I wish we had been given time to visit the book shop on the second floor, but were not. We also took the second part of the tour on the Palatine Hill, suggest everyone skip that because it was not that good.

This tour was very informative. I had been to the Coleseum before but this time I went with a guide and I got so much more out of it. I learned so much more and it was made so much more enriching. If you book online you do not have to go to the tour company to go on this tour. Just ask around outside the Coleseum on the side with the metro entrance. There will be people selling tickets to tour groups outside and they will usually be able to help you find the right group. The tour is not always at the time listed online sometimes you will have to wait until they gather enough people to go on the tour. I call it Italian Time This tour does not take you down in the dungeons but does take you to where the arena floor would have been. It talks about the brutality that took place there and why. MRB

The tour itself was wonderful - well-informed guide who made it interesting and enjoyable. We have an issue with the tour company - when we showed up at the office near the Colosseum, it took them 20-25 minutes to figure out who we were - Explore Italy Tours the name on the voucher was not seen anywhere, it said FunTravel on the sign. After a number of phone calls from the agent at the office to someone, they finally acknowledged we had a valid booking and put us on a tour one hour later making it for 50 minutes of very uncomfortable waiting. Again, the tour itself was wonderful.
