Go back to 125AD and explore the imposing Castel Sant'Angelo and Sant'Angelo Bridge in the Adriano Park of Rome.

An authorized guide will lead you to the front line to enjoy quick access to the cylindrical mausoleum of Hadrian and illustrate the changes that took place over the centuries behind the fortified walls of the first castle built in Rome.

Your tour also includes Ponte Sant'Angelo. Also known as Pons Aelius, it crosses the Tiber River from the rions (neighborhoods) of Ponte and Borgo. Built by Hadrian in 134 AD, the bridge is famous for the baroque statues of angels that hold relief elements of the Passion of Christ.

Strolling you can admire the Borgo Pio with its delightful and characteristic medieval streets and buildings until you reach the most famous square in the world, Piazza San Pietro, with its colonnade, 140 statues of saints, fountains and the wonderful St. Peter's Basilica.

What a pleasant experience, I was with a 20 yr old and an18 yr old. Was pleasantly surprised how engaged they became with guide and the history in general. Made history interesting. Moved tour along at a good pace. Would recommend.

The tour guide did not show up. We were early and waited 2 hours. We took the tour on our own and it was very interesting. Would have been much better with a guide.

Our tour guide verbally had us experience the amazing history of Castle San Angelo. She was friendly, relaxed, thorough, and engaged in personal conversation as well. She was great!

While this tour started out nice, the guide was very wordy and spent a lot of time detailing things that were obscure and less time on things that were not. All participants were getting bored. She also had us standing on an incline blocking foot traffic for others while she went on and on about something.??. As we had timed this tour to finish as scheduled so we could meet others, by the time she ran over by almost an hour, we had to give her our headsets and withdraw. As we did, so did everyone else.
