We would recommend Adam to anyone. He was knowledgeable and very friendly. Also, he was extremely well versed in the Japanese culture. The art of soap and staring.
Having arrived in Porto the night before and not having had a chance to get our bearings, let alone taste any local food, this was an excellent start to our 3 days break. Adam, our guide, was superb. We were a group of 4 (an American couple and ourselves - British). He talked us through, not only the local food, port and wine, but local history too (a bonus). We visited several interesting "hidden away" eateries/delis that we wouldn't have found ourselves and although it was only 3 hours, we gained a lot of useful info! Also, it's not a hard trek at all, not a huge amount of walking. Highly recommend!
Great morning with Filipa our guide who took us for tastings, snacks and lunch in town at various places as we learned along the way. A nice way to fill a few hours and try some food and drink with the help of a local person.
While our tour guide was lovely, the food selections were not good. There were only 5 stops (the last without food). The wine portions were also very small. We ended up getting more food and wine afterwards elsewhere. Not worth the money.
We had an exceptional guide who was extremely knowledgeable about the food and Porto wine. We felt he went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and if we needed anything else he would do what he could to accommodate us. In addition, we had a great time with the people in our group. We are super happy we signed up for this tour!
First of all I want to say that our tour guide Vania Oliveira is by far the best tour guide I have ever had. Not only do I love the City of Porto but Vania made sure that we knew the entire history of Porto and Portugal and she treated us like family. Even though I have been to Porto twice, I will definitely buy this tour again. I hope that someone at Viator or the tour company awards Vania for her excellence and amazing character.
This was a small group tour which is always the best to do. A much better experience. There were six of us starting at a little coffee shop Every stop we made, we learned a little more about the culture and the food. We ended at a little port place and had port tastings All in all a great experience.
We meet first for coffee and then walked to various shops and restaurants for tasting of foods, wine and port. Our guide Filipa was great.
100% would encourage anyone to do this! So much great, iconic food- Michael gave us great insights and we loved every bite and sip!
Sara was a great guide. Very knowledgeable. The food and port were wonderful and the conversation memorable.
Our guide Sara was fun and knowledgeable ... great food and wine experience.
Loved the afternoon small group gourmet food and wine tour with Sara and to see Porto through her eyes. From the food tasting of coffee and nata, to the marketplace which is sadly closing down for a renovation that will hopefully reopen again, so the locals can continue to make a livelihood. Cheeses and cured meats, to spicy pulled pork, quail and codfish cakes. Plus the ports including white and ruby. Meeting people from around the world was also another highlight of the tour, sharing insights into what makes us similar, yet different and sharing an experience where I made new friends. Thoroughly recommend the tour and Sara.
Great tour! Our guide Renato was full of local knowledge he was eager to share. The tour had a range of stops - modern coffee shop with AMAZING pasteis de nana, traditional tavern, wine shop - and they were all fabulous. I would highly recommend this tour.
Just returned from Porto one day ago, and I already miss it! Mario was an EXCELLENT tour guide, and was so knowledgeable about Porto. He was incredibly friendly, and my boyfriend and I immediately felt at ease with him, and the locals he introduced us to. The food and wine was incredible. He also filled us in on an amazing wine festival that added even more to our weekend. We had the best time, and would highly recommend booking this! If you're on the fence, BOOK IT!
