We had a wonderful day, beautiful lunch, great tour guide, it was one of our best day we had , would recommend this 100% Jim and Karen
It was well run and the service was excellent. I enjoyed the info the guide provided besides the lunch and entrance tickets to all the sights.
Being able to follow in the footsteps of two great artists, Monet and Van Gogh, was a day I’ll never forget. Our driver/guide was well-informed, and made the journey between Paris and the two sites very easy. Giverny in April is just incredible (I’ve been in summer before, and it was lovely, but it’s even more marvelous in spring). We had ample time to go on our own through the house, gardens, and small Impressionist museum (which I almost skipped, but it was very good despite its small size). In between, we stopped for lunch at a restaurant where all the tours stop. It was good, though not great, and I regret we spent quite so much time here. When we got to Auvers, we were rushed and missed out on some things I would like to have seen or photographed. I would have liked to have had a little more advance knowledge of what our itinerary would be there, so I would not have lost some photo opportunities. Still, visiting the small room where Vincent died was moving, as was the walk up through the fields and to the small cemetery. One other quibble, which made the day get off to a rocky start: I had been notified that I must checkin to the tour beforehand to verify my pickup location. This I was unable to do, despite repeated attempts by phone over two days. I was left unsure whether I would be met at my hotel or at their offices. It was extremely nerve wracking. There needs to be better communication about this aspect of the tour. It’s such a fantastic day apart from that, it’s a shame to mar it in any way with logistic problems.
Super trip great day not to be missed
Great tour if you are a fan of Monet and Van Gogh. Lunch was delight.
Our tour began outside our hotel at the appointed time. Our guide and van driver for the day, Manuel, was punctual, courteous, and amazingly informative. Even though we had been to Paris several times over the years, my only regret as we wound through the busy city traffic and out through the countryside en route to Giverny, was that I had not brought pen and paper to take notes, so interesting was Manuel's commentary. Monet's house and gardens, the village and the museum were well worth the visit. Then it was on to a country inn for lunch which was excellent. Then after a short walk around the inn after lunch, we drove to Auvers sur Oise, the village where van Gogh made his last paintings and also visited the house where he lived his last few very productive months. It was a day well spent and Manual was a superb guide in all respects and his efforts made the day most memorable.
Giverny and Auvers dur Oise have been on my Bucket List for a long time. This trip did not disappoint...it was excellent!! Celine, our guide, picked us up at the hotel exactly as planned on time. She was an wonderful host and her passion for the artists made the trip out to our first stop at Giverny go quickly as we talked about the lives of Van Gogh and Monet. The route to Giverny is through some beautiful French countryside which was a nice change from the noise and energy of Paris. After our visit to Giverny and lunch at the postcard-scenic Moulin de Fourges, we made the short drive to Auvers sur Oise. The village and the Auberge Rouvx with Van Gogh's room seemed like we stepped back into the 1890's. It was so nice to see that the area respects Van Gogh's life here but it has not become a tourist mecca of souvenirs shops and postcards. We loved this tour and could easily do it again on a future trip.
This was a fabulous day in the french countryside. My favorite tour! Excellent guide.
