I was not impressed with our tour. The headsets had so much static that we could hardly hear the guide..We told him this but he just shrugged his shoulders. We were later arriving that originally stated and only had 4 hours in Venice.
The tour company was professional and organised. The coach/bus was clean with good air conditioning which is critical in the summer. The tour guide managed the itinerary so well that we saw all the important places and still had some time to ourselves for lunch. I took the gondola option and it was absolutely worth it. The only negative is that while the tour company can pick you from your hotel (if you choose the option), they take you to a drop point where you meet other people and take the bus. I personally don't like bus tours and would have preferred a smaller coach but in the end it turned out okay. I highly recommend.
This was a great tour for people with limited time. Our guide did a great explaination of the highlights. I opted out of the gondola ride which I would recommend for more free time to explore on your own.
The tour guide we had on this day didnt care much about the group.i feel there were too many people to manage in this tour.1 guide for about 35 people.there were 2 people who were slow, they had to struggle to keep pace with the tour guide. This trip mentions hotel pick up.we had sent our confirmation a month ago but no one came to pick us. VERY POORLY MANAGED TOUR. The tour guide bought us gongola tickets quite far away from the centre of Venice well knowing that we have a person who wont be able to walk that far.She could have informed us that there was another gondola ride just where the ferry docking port was but if she did that perhaps she wouldnt have received her commision from those gondoliers.we ended up paying for 2 gondola trips. Uncaring tour guide with attitude,no hotel pick up,cunningly sold us gondola ticket for far off knowingly we wouldnt be able to do it and too many people in the tour. HIGHLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND irrespective of other reviews here.
our guide was the best...venice is worth the long ride. it is a wonderful place to experience.
It is amazing to see Venice in person. No cars, just walking. Have to do a Gondola ride, costs about 20 Euros per person extra but well worth the experience. Guide was great. Lunch is on your own, recommend finding a place not in a busy alley, explore.
Long day. Picked up on time, only to wait nearly 1/2 hour. The ride was OK, a bit long with some traffic. Opted for the Gondola ride. DON'T! Paid an extra 20 each for an indifferent Gondolier who never said hello, was on the cell phone the entire time. No interaction and yelled at other Gondoliers. Told guide, who said she'd talk to the manager. No refund was offered. Venice was busy, time was scarce. Felt rushed. Never again. The bus ride was nearly 5 hours, due to traffic. Nearly 16 hours. God by yourself by train, if possible.
Definitely worth spending a long day to see Venice. Despite the crowds we were able to see everything and have a gondola ride. The gondola ride was organized by the guide so no hassle and no wait. It was a lot of fun. Great day!
