A dress code is required to enter the Cathedral. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women.
It is extremely recommended to wear comfortable shoes. During hot days it is recommended to wear a sun hat.
Due to increased security measures at the Duomo some lines may form. Additionally, strict rules apply to enter the church (no knives, no scissors, no glass bottles, etc.)

Experiencing this beautiful Cathedral in person is a travelers must when in Milan. All the photos in the world do not actually prepare you for the magnificence and grandeur of this building. Our tour guide Sarah was incredibly informative and passionate about the Cathedral. If history and quiky details are your thing, then Sarah is the girl for you. Sadly my husband and I are not so inclined hence found this tour to be a little long, for us. This was not helped either by the incredible heat. Was still a great experience that we would not have missed. Thanks Sarah and Viator.

You’d best not do the roof top tour of you can’t sprint! The tour guide moved so fast we never could get enough time to photograph, listen to what she was saying let alone experience the majesty of the duomo. The ear phones provided little insight due to constant static. Uggh, waste of money.

Our guide, Linda, was fabulous. Very informative. Very considerate. She made it great! One couple in our group signed up for the tour and didn’t read that they would have to climb a number of steps. Linda went out of her way to accommodate them and still give the rest of the tour the attention they had paid for. I was impressed.

Thanks to Veronica for making this Duomo tour a highlight of our holiday. She was very friendly, informative and kept our small group of five visitors to Milan extremely well entertained with facts, figures, 'creepy' snippets, and interesting descriptions of the history and highlights of this wonderful building. 3D virtual reality was something I wouldn't pay for separately, it was fairly interesting but really just a little extra thing to do. We had been to the towers in Sagrada Familia two weeks earlier and that visit does not compare with the rooftop tour of the Duomo Terraces being able to go outside and see the view over Milan and the square in front of the building was fantastic. There were a lot of people up on top but that didn't detract from the novelty and the pleasure of being able to see the stonework, gargoyles etc up close. We spied Maio Restaurant from above and chose to go there for a delicious lunch - and to watch tourists climbing around where we'd been half an hour before. This tour gives you free entry to the Duomo museum next door, we spent an hour there, well worth visiting. We definitely recommend this tour, it is well paced, doesn't involve too much 'climbing', skip-the-line is a huge advantage when you see the crowds outside later in the day, the guide was great. Thanks to all concerned
