Parque nacional Manuel Antonio

1 day

Great tour, we were well looked after and saw lots of wildlife including sloths and two kinds of monkeys, much of which we would not have spotted without the help of our knowledgeable guide. The forest is full of life and the beach is beautiful!

Our guide was very inexperienced, could barely speak english, and she kept needing to ask the other guides for help. Not only was she NOT knowledgeable, but the whole time the group was wishing we had one of the OTHER guides that knew what they were doing. We should've bought binoculars and did the tour ourselves, that's how useless the guide was, and what a waste of money the tour was. I would recommend to everyone to go through a different guide company.

The tour of Manual Antonio was very nice, the guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. The tour itself was 2 hrs then we had 1.5 hrs after the tour to hike/sit on the beach in the park. The lunch location was very nice, it was outside the park right across the street from the public beach. The tour was not 12 hours as listed on the description, we were headed back to our hotel from the tour/lunch by 1:30pm. The transportation from the hotel was okay, we didn't get much insight on the area and it was difficult to confirm the actual pick up time. If you have never been to the park I recommend the tour otherwise you may want to go on your own or visit the activities/beach outside the park.

If you want to see the national park and enjoy free time on the beach this is the tour for you. Our tour guy was very informative on all the animals we saw. The walk in the rain forest took an 1 hr. The walk is very easy to do. After day we had almost 3 hours to enjoy the private beaches.

We loved the park and such great, great beaches. Don't go to Costa Rico with out seeing this park, but if you have a rental car, I would definitely do the park by ourselves! And you would see everything seen by people on tours. It took 2 to 3 hours longer than it should have taken for our group -- due to very slow walking pace (because guide had everyone look in his telescope for this and that). Then one couple on our tour wanted the group to be picked up an hour later than scheduled -- I wish I had objected! The tour bus picked us up 2 1/2 hours after the original time schedule! The lunch they include could be done on your own in the same nearby town. Everyone of us were weary and falling asleep waiting for the bus.
