This was a must do on our itinerary. We were not disappointed. Bit of confusion in Franz Josef as two companies offer the tour we booked and interchange the check-in. Other than that, super. Comfortable helicopter, smooth flight and utterly breathtaking scenery. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to appreciate the majesty of the southern alps.
This was the highlight of our New Zealand holiday. We would highly recommend it. We loved it. The pilot was very skilled.
For the price and from the description, I expected more. The pilot didn't even describe anything we were passing over. I wish I had my money back!
Our Pilot, Blair was excellent. He made our trip so memorable - particularly for our younger boys who had not seen snow before. This was the highlight of our three weeks in New Zealand.
This was the first and only caravan park we stayed in on our trip and it was poor cramped cabin really no value for money the weather closed in on us and our helicopter flight was cancelled however we saw enough of the bush walk and beautiful surrounds to make us want to return in better weather. This is the only place that we saw the Kiwi. Here is the best tip I can give travelers after being told that we should be extremely quiet as the Kiwi was shy we entered the dark enclosure where we looked for 15 minutes without seeing a Kiwi I let out a low whistle between the teeth and the two kiwis in the enclosure came running up to the fence where we could get a good look at this inquisitive bird so much for shy.
