Pick Up:

10am The Gresham Hotel on O'Connell Street

10:05 The Ashfield Hostel on D'Olier Street

From the city centre we travel out the coast road through the picturesque port of Dun Laoghaire and onto Dalkey town.

Here you can do the Dalkey Castle tour. After this you will have time to stroll around Dalkey town and browse amongst the different shops and cafes from artisan bakeries to bookshops and The Tramyard Market.

Dalkey is one of the prettiest towns in Ireland http://irsh.us/2mmivBX

This area is known for its famous residents such as Bono, Enya, The Edge and Eddie Irvine to name a few.

We then take the bus for a short but very scenic drive out by Colliemore Harbour where you will view Dalkey Island and continue on to Vico Road for amazing sea views and we pass Victoria Castle which is now the private home of Enya. We squeeze the coach through the granite arch in Killiney where you enter Killiney Hill park.

There are a few walks you can do here and all of the walks offer the best of views that Killiney hill has to offer.

After Killiney Hill you get back on the coach and we take you to Avoca for lunch and shopping.

You will have built up a thirst this point of the tour so we take you now into the Dublin Mountains to visit Johnnie Fox's where you can enjoy a nice pint in front of one of the peat fires and marvel at the wonderments hanging from the walls and ceilings.

We reluctantly take you from here and take you back down the mountains taking in some more amazing views of Dublin Bay.

We get back to the city no later than 4:30pm.

My husband and I enjoyed the tour. Our driver was very knowledgeable. Found out that there's a lot you thought you may have known, but really do not know. I would recommend this tour to my friends and family as we enjoyed it that much. Worth every cent.

The Delkey Castle and Killiney Hill Tour was fabulous! Our tour guide was professional, knowledgeable, and an excellent driver. A true Ireland history buff who was very kind, patient, and entertaining not to mention a Bruce Springsteen fan!. The midsize bus coach we rode in was modern and provided a very comfortable ride. We stopped at Dalkey, a beautiful seaside resort just southeast of Dublin and first settled by the Vikings. Dalkey castle was once a fortified town house built in the 1600's. At the castle and we viewed a short historical video and were then greeted by talented character actors who further explained the history of how people lived there in the middle ages. Killiney Hill is a beautiful park where the views are amazing note it involves a bit of uphill walking. The drive from place to place was scenic and photo worthy. We were able to browse a few shops and also had time for lunch our cost. Before returning to Dublin we stopped at Johnnie Fox's one of the grandest pubs I've ever been to and I've been to a lot of pubs in my lifetime lol. This traditional Irish pub is also known to be the highest elevation pub in Ireland! Sláinte!
