It was interesting to see the hill tribe but there wasnt much there, just a lot of walking around. The driver managed the roads well, since they were very narrow winding dirt roads near the tribe. The twin pagodas were good to see, very interesting and good for pictures. The tour guide was able to give us a lot of info here. The highest point in Thailand was a little anti-climactic since there wasnt much to do or see and we were only there for a short time. The waterfall was nice and so was the lunch. Just keep in mind that you may not be able to use a western toilet at some points in this tour there was one at the pagodas
Our guide Ya Ya was exceptional.
The twin pagodas are most beautiful, the view is breathtaking and our guide was most knowledgeable about the history of the region. There was plenty of food at lunch time and our host was most accomodating.
Toon was our private guide and a wealth of information! Ben our driver was very patient with all of the holiday traffic in the national park and kept us safe. We visited the beautiful Pagodas and spent lots of time walking around the perfectly manicured gardens. It was a bit foggy so we didn't get to see the great views but it was still spectacular. We enjoyed two short nature walks by the highest point in Thailand. Lunch tasted like what I imagine Thai truck stop food tastes like, but a nice attempt. We loved the short walk through the Karen village. Enjoyed a cup of coffee with the locals. Then a stop at two beautiful waterfalls. This tour was exactly as described and worth every penny!
Dear Viator, We have used your company for several tours over the years and have been very happy with your company. We were extremely disappointed in the Full-day tour to Doi Inthanon from Chiang Mai. Here are reasons why: Our tour guide did not speak English well. We had a really difficult time understanding him. He gave us some information in the beginning of the trip, but after that point, we were provided very little information during the entire tour. We had to ask him questions to get any information out of him. Your website stated that we would also visit the Karen hill tribe village, which we were excited to see the people in their traditional clothes as shown on your website. However, when we stopped at the Karen hill village, we saw very few people. 4 out of the 5 people we saw were in western clothes. There was only one elderly lady we saw that wore traditional clothing. She was weaving on the second floor of her home. Our guide assured us that our lunch will consist of traditional Northern Thai foods. During our lunch stop, we were provided very bad cafeteria food. The food was not edible and we did not eat lunch. Our guide felt bad and during our stop at Wachirathan waterfall, he paid for our lunch. Overall, this has been the worst tour we had experienced with Viator. We hope that our input will help your company improve future tours for your customers. Sincerely, Bill and Lee
This was a private tour which we hadn't originally realized but it was wonderful to be able to go at our own pace. The views were beautiful with amazing temples, botanical gardens and the waterfall. Amorn sp? was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable. She even looked up which Buddha position represented the day each of us had been born on. We got to see the Karen Village which was very interesting to see how different they lived. The restaurant she took us to on the mountain also had very good food and she gave us several options to choose from. The one downfall of the tour and the reason it is only 4 stars is that on our way back to the hotel our tour guide took us on an extra stop to a gem factory. As soon as we walked in it immediately felt like a scam. They followed us around and wouldn't let us just look at what we wanted to. They also sold ivory items which was very upsetting to me. If she had just stuck to the tour and didn't bring us to this shady store it would have been a 5 star tour.
Brilliant day visiting Thailand's highest peak. This was a private tour so just the two of us and our driver and guide. The guide was excellent and was very knowledgeable and told us lots of information. It was unfortunately a rainy day but still beautiful nonetheless. Lunch was very good. Myself and partner loved this trip.
