The dinner was held about 30mins drive out of Budapest in a converted winery which was very interesting. My parents had gone on the same tour a few months earlier which was in a nicer venue, so you cannot know where Cityrama will take you. Could not fault the hard work of the waiting staff that had to cater for a huge crowd. The meal was a tasty basic meal understandable given the numbers. The musicians and dancers folklore show was great. The tour guide we had was not engaging, wanted to rush us off before we had even been served desert/ coffee. He did not seem interested in providing a commentary on the drive there nor when we were near the Citadella (does not go to the top). The bus we were in had a broken step which made it difficult for those who couldn't climb in easily, (said it was broken the day prior and was to be fixed the next day). There is no hotel pick up and were dropped off at the back of the hotel.

Budapest by night and traditional costume show is why we booked this tour. On those two counts it did not disappoint. The night view from Gellert hill was fantastic. Take a decent camera with you. The cellphone camera cannot do it justice. The Folklore Show was mostly violin music by a very talented violinist. Some dancing in traditional costume but could be more. Dinner was interesting. Wine was included with limitations on bottles on table without being extra. Dinner was goulash soup, liced bread, Turkey leg and thigh (small like chicken size)/sliced potatoes/red cabbage, cake pudding with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Dinner was adequate. But let's face it. You aren't there for the food. You are seated in one of two rows of tables along the walls in an underground wine cave that is long and narrow with a small raised stage at one end. We were seated middle of row and could easily see stage and the top half of performers. If they could raise stage a bit more, everyone could see better. But it was a fun evening.

I would do this again. First you drive to an old lodge for the dinner/show and it was all good. The food was decent, the atmosphere was true and the singing/music was entertaining. It's purely for the tour buses and was campy - but that's what made it fun. After, we drove to Pest to go to a high spot to see the city lit up at night. Overall, well worth the time and money

Had a great time. Everybody at our table had fun. They get everyone to participate if they want to. There is no pressure though. The food was good. I Highly recommend it.

On the last night of our Danube river cruise we were treated to Hungarian gypsy and operetta music. The four of us knew we were next in for "Budapest by Night Tour with Dinner and Folklore Show," but would this experience be much different? Yes, surprisingly this tour is well worth it. Viewing the illuminated Budapest skyline was priceless in and of itself, but still there was dinner and some sort of dancing. We drove quite a ways into the wooded Buda hills to reach the hosting restaurant. At one point I thought our small group might be taken into the woods for alternative reasons. Finally reaching our destination, the facility was quite large and we were greeted with apricot schnapps. The banquet room was decorated as if we were there for a barn dance. As the bread and family-style goulash soup pot arrived the dances began and the side dishes and entrees kept on coming. As the beer or wine flowed, the costumed dancers and band members performed several types of music and dance which encompassed what appeared to be German influenced dances, followed by Kozak style dances, and of course gypsy music and dance. My brother loved the goulash soup so much, he had no room for the entrees or dessert! Our expert guide put so much time into ensuring that we saw the best points of Budpest's illuminated skyline and Castle Hill while still being charged to get us to the restaurant on time that we became less aware of his presence and more impressed with our introduction to the magical sights, sounds, and tastes of Budapest. It was a long and glorious evening out, and we highly recommend this tour!

This excursion was so fun, our tour guide Pedro was very knowledgeable and showed us the beautiful sights of Budapest. We went to this restaurant off the beaten path called Vadaspark, the food was amazing!!! We had the best Goulash there, and after that for the remainder of our 13 days vacationing we did not find a better Goulash dish, Vadaspark totally delivered in the food and entertainment department. The folklore show was also very good, the tour in itself was just a lot of fun, I highly recommend this tour. Thanks again Pedro!

We were a small group on this tour and the other participants were friendly which was nice for this solo traveller. Unfortunately it was cold and raining which compromised the 'night tour' part of it and the guide seemed to spend more time speaking in German. Otherwise the dinner was very good, as was the show but we were sitting right at the back of a large room and it was difficult to see the performers at times.

The traditional restaurant we visited was excellent, from the traditional drink on arrival through to the Folk Dance Show and traditional music. For anyone visiting Budapest I would highly recommend this tour, it was a very enjoyable evening.
